For most of my time as a potter, I have made my work primarily out of a pure porcelain. This clay is very receptive to fine detail work and cleans up quite well. The glazes I use vary in color intensity depending on their thickness. When fired hot, they melt into the recesses of the applied texture, giving the surfaces and illusion of depth. I have always liked how theses glazes look like the things I enjoy looking at: the amber color of honey, glacial ice, turquoise streams…….
